The Product

One standardized week, endlessly adaptable

The Retreat Week is the format most leaders end up booking: arrival on day 1 by 4x4 convoy or helicopter, three full days of program, departure on the morning of day 5. Four nights is long enough for real transformation and short enough for participants to commit.

You bring the curriculum. We wrap it in the desert: sunrise practice on the deck facing the dunes, workshops in the majlis, a camel trek, a silence afternoon, sound healing, a guided astronomy session, an expedition to Lake Iriki, and a fire circle every night.

Because the format is standardized, we can quote it fast, staff it perfectly, and you can put it on sale to your community with confidence.

The Week, Day by Day

A proven arc your program slots straight into

Day 1

Arrival and landing

Your group travels from Marrakech by private 4x4 convoy, or by helicopter directly onto the dunes. Welcome tea at the majlis, tent assignment, sunset walk on the nearest ridge, open-fire dinner. No programming, just arrival.

Day 2

Opening the container

Sunrise practice on the deck facing the dunes. Morning workshop in the majlis lounge. Long lunch and rest. Late-afternoon camel trek to a high dune for sunset. Evening opening circle around the fire under Bortle Class 1 skies.

Day 3

Deep work and silence

Two morning sessions with a break between them. Silence afternoon: solo time in the dunes for journaling, walking meditation or rest. Sound healing session at dusk, then a guided astronomy session after dinner, the darkest sky in North Africa.

Day 4

Expedition and closing

Gentle sunrise practice, then a 4x4 expedition across the erg to the dry Lake Iriki and back. Afternoon 1-to-1 sessions or free time. Closing ceremony, celebration dinner and a final night at the fire with Berber music.

Day 5

Departure

Final sunrise practice, closing circle, breakfast. Convoy back to M'Hamid and onward transfers to Marrakech, or helicopter pick-up from camp. Your group leaves by late morning.

This is a template, not a rule. Silent retreats, teaching intensives, photography weeks built around the light: we rebuild the logistics around your curriculum.

How the Rate Works

One figure for the whole camp, quoted for your dates.

Quoted, not listed

One rate for the whole camp, not a price per head

The figure covers the entire camp, full board, the team of 12, the practice spaces, the equipment and the included activity programme. Minimum three nights. Because it is the whole camp, the rate does not fall as your group grows, and your margin per participant improves with every place you fill.

We quote per enquiry rather than publishing a card, because the season, the dates and the shape of your programme genuinely change what a week costs to run. Send your dates and you have a figure and full commercial terms within 24 hours.

Organizer FAQ

What retreat leaders ask before booking

How do groups get to the camp?
Most groups travel from Marrakech by private 4x4 convoy, roughly 8 hours with scenic stops, arriving for sunset. For a shorter journey, a helicopter transfer lands your group directly on the dunes beside camp in about 1 hour 40 from Marrakech. Many leaders combine the two: 4x4 in, helicopter out.
Is there Wi-Fi at the camp?
There is no Wi-Fi at the camp, and a satellite phone for emergencies. What there is, and guests discover it fast, is 4G at the top of the big dune. The walk up has become the camp's unofficial post office: people go up before dinner, send what needed sending, and come back down. It is exactly why retreats work so well here, and most leaders present the disconnection as a feature of their programme.
Can you handle special diets across a whole group?
Yes. Our chef accommodates vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, halal and most other requirements. You share a participant dietary form before arrival and we build the menus accordingly. Food is consistently one of the top-rated elements of every retreat we host.
What insurance do I need as an organizer?
You carry your own professional liability insurance for your teaching and program, as you would at any venue. The camp carries its own operating insurance covering the site, staff, meals and transfers. We recommend your participants hold standard travel insurance, and we can provide venue documentation for your insurer on request.
How does the deposit and payment schedule work?
A deposit confirms your dates and blocks the full camp for your group. The balance is due before arrival, with the exact schedule set out in your proposal. We never sell your dates to anyone else once the deposit is received.
What is the weather like during the season?
The camp operates September through June. Expect warm sunny days, golden light at both ends of the day, and cool clear nights that are ideal for fires and stargazing. October to April brings the crispest mornings for sunrise practice; spring and autumn offer the warmest evenings on the dunes.
How far in advance should I book The Retreat Week?
We recommend 4 to 6 months ahead to secure your preferred dates and leave time to market your retreat. High-season weeks (October to December, March to May) fill significantly earlier, so early contact gives the most flexibility.
Can the week be adapted to my program?
Completely. The day-by-day flow on this page is a proven template, not a rule. Silent retreats, training intensives with three sessions a day, photography programs built around dawn and dusk light: we rebuild the logistics around your curriculum, and your proposal reflects your exact schedule.
