No social vigilance. Even a luxurious resort keeps you in mild social performance mode: other guests, staff turnover, ambient crowd behaviour. Optional gentle movement or breathwork on the dunes can be arranged with visiting facilitators, or you can simply walk. Barefoot walking on cool morning sand provides slow, rhythmic, bilateral stimulation, one of the oldest regulation techniques there is.
Middays are for shade, long lunches of fresh Moroccan cooking, reading, sleeping again if the body asks for it. Nobody tracks what you do.
Evenings organise themselves around the fire and the sky. Firelight is the one form of evening light the human nervous system evolved with. Conversations get slower and deeper. Then the stars take over.

How long does a nervous system reset take?
Based on hundreds of guest stays, we see a consistent arc.
Nights one and two: withdrawal. The mind keeps reaching for stimulation. Phantom phone checks, restlessness, sometimes a headache as caffeine and screen rhythms break. This phase is normal and worth pushing through.
Nights three and four: the drop. Sleep deepens noticeably. Guests report vivid dreams, spontaneous emotion, a sudden appetite for stillness. Heart rate variability, for those who track it, typically begins climbing here.
Nights five and beyond: consolidation. This is where the reset stabilises into something you can take home. Breathing has moved lower into the body. The 3am waking has usually stopped. The desert starts to feel less like an absence of things and more like a presence of its own.
We recommend a minimum of four nights, and consider six to seven nights the genuine reset format. Shorter stays are still valuable, especially combined with a digital detox approach, but the deepest changes need the second half of the week.
