A Sahara camp for retreat leaders from Singapore
Studios, gyms, coaches and the groups who follow them: the whole camp for your community, far from every screen
Why the Sahara
Retreat leaders in Singapore are used to taking small groups away and to designing the week themselves. The Erg Chegaga offers a different kind of away: a private camp in the dunes of southern Morocco, sixty kilometres of desert piste beyond the last paved road, with no wifi, no network and, once you privatise it, no other guests.
Privatised, the camp is yours alone, from two to eighteen guests and up to twenty with extra beds. You bring the programme and the people who trust you; we run the camp, the meals, the vehicles and the safety on the ground.
Who brings a group
Built for the people who lead
Pilates and yoga studios
Morning practice on the dunes, a lounge tent for indoor sessions and the whole camp kept for your members.
Boutique gyms and trainers
Sand work at first light, recovery in the afternoon and a chef who cooks for your group only.
Executive and leadership coaches
A small group, a week without signal and a sky rated Bortle 1 to end the day.
Wellness and breathwork teachers
Silence, space and a team that works around your sessions.
What the camp gives you
The whole camp, for your group only
Eight tent suites
Each has its own bathroom with a hot shower and a real bed. The camp takes 2 to 18 guests, and up to 20 with extra beds.
The camp to yourselves
When you privatise it, there are no other guests. Your group has the camp, the dunes and the silence, and the team works around your programme.
A kitchen for your group
Our chef cooks for your group only, and dietary needs sent before arrival are built into the menus.
Space to teach
Open desert for practice, a lounge tent for indoor sessions and a sky rated Bortle 1, the darkest class on the scale.
No wifi, no network
There is no network at the camp. For an important call, a signal can be found a short walk away, about twenty minutes there and back.
You keep your community
You set the programme and the price of a place. We never contact your participants and never sell to them.
How long
From three nights, and longer on request
- Three nights
- The shortest stay that makes the journey worthwhile: arrive, settle, teach, leave rested.
- Five to seven nights
- The format most coaches design a full programme around, with room for rest days and an expedition day.
- Ten nights and more
- For long silence retreats and immersions. Longer stays are arranged on request, with the dates agreed in writing.
Questions
What organisers ask first
Is a long stay possible for a group travelling far?
Yes. Five to seven nights is the format most programmes are built around, and longer stays are arranged on request with the dates agreed in writing.
Can we bring our own photographer or filmmaker?
Yes. Your own photographers and filmmakers are welcome, and professional photography can be arranged on request. When you privatise the camp, there are no other guests to keep out of the frame.
Can our group have the camp to itself?
Yes. When you privatise it, the camp is taken whole by your group, from 2 to 18 guests and up to 20 with extra beds, so your participants do not share it. Privatising is possible for any request, subject to availability, and never an obligation: a single tent can also be booked.
How do we reach the camp?
Your group flies into Marrakech. From there it is about 8 hours 45 by road, of which 1 hour 30 is piste, or 1 hour 40 by helicopter, with five or six seats per rotation.
When is the camp open?
From September to June. The camp is closed in July and August.
Do you publish a price?
No. The camp is quoted as a whole, case by case, from your dates and your programme. You receive a written proposal within 24 hours.
Tell us the dates and how many of you.
