What does not change is the practical picture below, and we would rather give you that than a number copied from somewhere Europe. Morocco is consistently ranked among the safest countries in Africa, and violent crime against tourists is rare.

What women actually report

The honest answer: the most common friction for women travelers in Morocco is persistent vendor and street attention in busy city medinas. It is tiring, not dangerous, and it is a city phenomenon.

Umnya guests skip it almost entirely. We meet you in Marrakech, our team handles every transfer, and the camp itself sits beyond the last paved road in Erg Chegaga: private, remote, limited to 20 guests, with a dedicated team around you the whole time. Many of our guests are women traveling alone; several of our retreats draw majority-women groups.

Getting here is easier than you think
