FAQ

When is the best time to visit the camp?

Due to the location of the camp being in the middle of the desert, the camp will be closed during Summer (July-August). The best time to visit the camp is from September to June. Every month is a magical experience.

How do we get to the camp if we live abroad?

You can take a flight to the closest airport which is Zagora Airport (OZG). There are also direct flights from Mohammed V International Airport (CMN). Helicopter and private jet services are available upon request.

How do we commute from the airport to the camp? 

Umnya Dune Camp is situated in Erg Chigaga and can only be accessed by 4x4. Please note that the transportation from/to airport and cities will incur additional costs.

How far is the nearest city from the camp?

The nearest cities include:

- M’Hamid El Ghizlane (1 hour 30 minutes)

- Foum Zguid (2 hours 30 minutes)

- Zagora (3 hours)

- Agdz (4 hours)

- Ouarzazate (5 hours 30 minutes)

- Skoura/Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou (6 hours 30 minutes)

- Marrakesh (9 hours)

- Agadir/Fez (12 hours)

How is the access to water and electricity?

In our camp, there is no source of running water. However, fresh water is brought to the camp twice a week to be consumed by our guests. If you want have a  warm or cold showers, you can request at least 30 minutes in advance. Meanwhile, our electricity source came from solar panel that’s going to charged our solar batteries to be used by our guests to charge their devices.

Is there any internet connection in the camp? 

There is a Wi-Fi connection available in the camp, but there is none in the tents. Due to this, payment by card or cash machine is not available in the camp.

What are the camp amenities?

The common area includes:

- fire camp area

- moroccan berber tent

- library tent

- tent restaurant

- shisha (hookah) area

How is the tent?

Each of our tent are separated by dunes for privacy. The canvas tent range from 32 to 44 square meter with a private terrace and elevated wooden platform for the guests comfort and security. It is also equipped with a bathroom that include a shower and eco-toilet, complete with a set of toiletries. 

What will we have for our meal in the camp?

There is a kitchen in the camp that offers a range of Moroccan dishes such as Couscous, Tagines and salads or soups... Vegan and gluten-free options are also available per request.

What is the usual temperature in the camp?

During days, the temperature can hit around 25°C to around 40°C. While at night, it goes from 20°C to around 5°C. 

Is there any wild animals in the area?

The scorpions and snakes can be during hot summer when we are closed and they are looking for water in the oasis area. However, we never encountered any problem with wild animals this far.

Will we be affected by sandstorm?

Small sandstorms can be occasional during the winter time in the whole desert. However it is fully save and can even be a part of the attraction that you will experience during your stay.
